This project I was aiming to be simple but still impactful. I was looking intoBarbara Kruger’s work in which she has small but provocative phrases, and I wanted to do something similar. When I first started to think about this piece I wanted the picture to be really dark with a paint swash covering the eyes. I had two options, I could either do the swash on Adobe Photoshop or I could print the picture and do it myself, which was what I ended up doing. My concept for this is how blind people generally use sunglasses to prevent people to look into their eyes, but at the same time people pay more attention to it. I wanted that same thing to happen with my piece, where it clearly states ‘don't look’ but will still catch people’s attention.
For this work I did some reaserch on typography and also looked into Barbara Krugers work which inspired mine.
